Low Level Laser Therapy

Low level laser therapy is a non-invasive light source treatment that generates a single wavelength of light. It emits no heat so will not burn.

The laser targets individual cells that are not working correctly and re-energises them to work more effectively (converting light into biomechanical enery). This helps to reduce fibrous tissue and promote uptake into the lymphatics meaning that the swelling becomes softer and there may be a reduction in limb volume. The laser helps the healing process, relieving pain, reducing inflammation and lymphoedema, helping to restore of function.

It is helpful post breast cancer surgery, hypertrophic, pressure area and burns scars.

The Low Level Laser is used in conjunction with ScarWork therapy techniques.

The LTU-904 Laser Therapy Unit is the ONLY laser device cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for lymphoedema treatment after breast cancer. LTU-904 is registered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG).
